![]() ![]() Since I was writing books and a column, I could get loaners of the most recent PT while I was upgrading my own Nuendo. So I got a small PT system as well, and converted the project to PT session when I had to go to another studio. Nuendo seemed a lot faster and could use the existing sync IO and DSP cards plugged into my Mac for Performer, but I was worried about compatibility. For me, dedicated keys will always be faster than finding a button on the screen. Ignored the patter and made note of how many keystokes, mouse moves, and other stuff was needed. Showed up, watched their demo, then pulled out my own material and started calling edits and other operations. I had good credibility with my dealer, who carried both Digi and Steiny, and asked them to set up a half-day with factory experts for each. And they'd stopped development a few years earlier. It was a killer for industrials and spots, and would even slave a BSP deck to audio while you were scrubbing or playing, but not big enough for feature and network shows. Switched from very fast dedicated tower and controller DAW (Orban) in early 2005. ![]()
